How do I set up my mail for Outlook 2016 on Mac OS X?
Follow the steps in this guide to set up your mail in your Outlook 2016 mail client on Mac OS X.
Method 1, configure Outlook 2016:
- Open Outlook (if you already have an email address configured continue to Method 2).
- Enter your e-mail address at ‘E-mail address’
- Outlook now has selected for ‘IMAP’ and entered the username and email address.
- Enter your password.
- The server name of your hosting package. You can find these under ‘Services’ -> ‘My services’ -> Select the right package -> ‘Hosting information’.
- Change ‘port 587’ to ‘port 465’.
- Click on ‘Add account’, now the data will be checked.
- You can now send and receive mail from Outlook 2016.
Method 2,
If you already send and receive mail with Outlook 2016:
- Open Outlook.
- Click on ‘Preferences’
- Select ‘Accounts’
- Click on ‘Add Email Accounts’
- Enter at ‘E-mail address’ the e-mail address.
- Outlook now has selected for ‘IMAP’ and entered the username and email address.
- Enter your password.
- The server name of your hosting package. You can find these in My Hosting under ‘Services’ -> ‘My Services’ -> Select the appropriate package -> ‘Hosting Information’.
- Change ‘port 587’ to ‘port 465’
- Click on ‘Add account’, now the data will be checked.
- You can now send and receive mail from Outlook 2016.
