How do I set up my email on my iPhone or iPad?
You can simply receive Hosting.NL email coming in to your domain name on your iPhone or iPad. You can arrange this yourself quickly and easily.
Below are the steps described for IOS 14.6. So this may be slightly different from older IOS versions:
- Go to ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Mail’
Older IOS version: ‘Accounts and passwords’ - Click on ‘Accounts’
- Click on ‘New account’
- Click on ‘Other’
- Click on Add mail account
– Fill in Name the sender (this name is visible to the recipients of your emails)
– Under ‘Email’ enter your email address (completely lowercase)
– Under ‘Password’, enter the corresponding password
– Enter a ‘Description’ so you can identify the mailbox in your device
– Click ‘Next’ at the top right - Here you can select the mail protocol ‘IMAP’ or ‘POP’
With IMAP, you view mail directly on the server. This is useful for synchronizing mail when using multiple devices. With POP, you download the mail to the mail client:
– Under “Server incoming mail,” under ” Host name, ” enter enter the server name of your hosting package. You can find these in My Hosting under ‘Services’ -> ‘My services’ -> Select the appropriate package -> ‘Hosting information’
– Under ‘Username’, enter your full email address (completely lowercase)
– Under ‘Password’ enter the corresponding password, if not already entered
– Under ‘Server outgoing mail’ enter ‘Host name’. enter the server name of your hosting package. You can find these in My Hosting under ‘Services’ -> ‘My Services’ -> Select the appropriate package -> ‘Hosting Information’
– Under ‘Username’, enter your e-mail address again (completely lowercase)
– Under ‘Password’, enter the corresponding password
– Click ‘Next’ and the device will now check your account - The mailbox is checked and if all went well, you will see all the “blue check marks” appear
- If you don’t want to set notes, you can set it here
- Click on ‘Save’
- Your mailbox is ready for use
An error message may appear saying “Server identity not verified. Then click “OK” and save the settings again.
