Enable two-step verification (2FA) in My Hosting
What is two-step verification?
With two-step authentication, also called two-stage authentication, two-factor authentication, Multi-Factor Authentication or Two Factor Authentication, you are asked twice to prove that you are “you. When you log in somewhere, you usually enter your username and password first. After you provide the correct login information, you generate a specific code that is generated through an additional application. You enter this code at the login screen, and only then can you access your account.
Do you work with multiple “Named accounts” collaboration within one environment? Then create your own My Hosting account for each colleague.
Different ways for two-step verification
We provide support for the following methods of two-step verification:
- Time-based tokens: Get codes from an App such as Google Authenticator or Authy.
- FreeOTP is not supported by us at this time. Please use an alternative method:
- Authentication via SMS: Receive codes on your cell phone via an SMS message.
- Yubico: Generate codes using a YubiKey hardware device.
