How Do I Change the Nameservers?
A nameserver, also known as a DNS server, is a crucial component of the Domain Name System (DNS). DNS is a system used to translate human-friendly domain names, such as www.janjansen.nl, into the numerical IP address of the server hosting the website or service. This allows computers to communicate with each other over the internet using understandable domain names instead of hard-to-remember IP addresses.
Nameservers are the cornerstones of the DNS system, ensuring that internet users can easily access websites and services without having to manually enter IP addresses.
How to Change the Nameservers of your Domain Name
Please note: You can only change the nameservers of your domain name after DNSSEC has been disabled.
Follow the steps below to change the Nameservers of your domain name
- Log in op Mijn Hosting
- Click on Domain Names
- Check the domain name or domain names for which you want to change the nameservers
- Click on Manage nameservers
Now you can choose to set our default nameservers (the nameservers of Hosting.NL) or your own nameservers.
Click on “Change nameservers” to save the changes
Please note: changing nameservers can take up to 48 hours before they are actually indexed.
