What is a move token or authorization code?
A move token (for .nl domains), also called an authorization code, is required for most domain name extensions to be able to move the domain name to another provider.
It is a unique identification number associated with your domain name. Without this number, a domain cannot simply be moved. It is a security for the domain name holder to prevent third parties from simply moving your property.
A provider is required to transfer the token to the holder within 5 business days of requesting it. Some relocation tokens have limited validity. This is the case with ‘.eu’ and ‘.be’ extensions, among others. For this reason, these transfer codes are also not retrievable through My Hosting. Chances are you will have to apply for a new code if you wait too long to move.
