Exchange combined with Outlook for Windows
Recently there has been a patch for Microsoft Outlook and then the Windows variant, concerning a major zero day leak.
These can be read on these 2 pages: https://tweakers.net/nieuws/207688/microsoft-patcht-zeroday-in-outlook-die-te-misbruiken-is-zonder-actie-gebruiker.html & https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/vulnerability/CVE-2023-23397
For this we have already posted on our status page what the possible steps are regarding this problem and the problem in which your exchange mailbox cannot connect to Outlook.
It can be found at status.hosting.nl
Unfortunately for some users, after these steps, it may still not be possible to use their exchange mailbox via Outlook.
We have spent the last few days looking for a solution that can be used to ensure that you can use Outlook in combination with Exchange again as before.
This solution is quite technical, though, and Hosting.NL cannot help you apply it.
- Open Powershell in administrative mode, how to open it is on this page
- Run the oneliner below depending on the version you are using:
If Outlook 2016 or later is used this oneliner must be used:
If Outlook 2013 is used this oneliner must be used:Remove-Item -Path HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook -Force -Verbose -Recurse
Remove-Item -Path HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook -Force -Verbose -Recurse
- After this oneliner you do need to re-create your profile within outlook and reconfigure the account, manuals for this can be found on our support page
