Girls’ Day 2022
On Thursday, April 7, 2022, we welcomed over 20 students from Stedelijk Dalton College to our location. In fact, we participated in Girls’ Day 2022, an initiative of VHTO Expertise Center on Gender Diversity in STEM, Engineering and IT.
During this national Girls’ Day, girls throughout the Netherlands visited companies in STEM, engineering and IT. This allows them to be introduced to technical or IT professional practice. We show the girls during the company visit and assignments how much fun it is to work with us by showing them the shop floor, meeting our employees and showing them our operations.
After the Meet & Greet with the women of the Cyso Group, they got to work in groups to come up with an app you can’t live without. And there was old school server patching, followed by an introduction to Python. To top it off, we closed with a real Code Combat.
The students and teachers found it a fun and varied program and indicated that it is still more fun to participate in such a program live and physically than online as we did last year.
To fill the growing number of vacancies in our industry, it is necessary to appeal to a broad pool of talent. By showing girls what it’s like to work at Cyso Group, we want to inspire a new generation of women to choose STEM, engineering or IT!
