Setting up Soko Mail

If you have an email address at Soko, you can use your email address to send mail via our mail server: mail.soko.nl

You have to specify a username and password for the outgoing mail server (SMTP), just like when you retrieve the mail. Also, the connection should be encrypted.

Mail server Inbound: mail.soko.nl
Incoming mail port: POP3: 995+SSL, IMAP: 993+SSL
Mail server Outgoing: mail.soko.nl
Outgoing mail port: 587+TLS/Automatic

Below is an example of the settings in Outlook 2013, this article can also be used for newer versions of Outlook

  1. Setting up mail.soko.nl as a Server for incoming mail (POP3/IMAP) and outgoing mail (SMTP)
  2. On Server tab for outgoing mail, make sure Verification is required and the same name and password is used to retrieve the mail (incoming mail)
  3. In the new screen, go to the right-hand Advanced tab and check the box “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).”
  4. On the Advanced tab, under Outgoing email (SMTP), set port 587 and select TLS or Automatic in the check box
